About Us
Om Vashistha Yoga exists for people who want depth without intensity, and discipline without force. Our approach to traditional yoga in Ahmedabad emphasises consistency, awareness, and respect for the body’s natural rhythm-especially in today’s overstimulated, fast-paced lives. Yoga at Om Vashistha Yoga is not separated from daily life; the intention is to carry mindfulness both on and off the mat. Through mindful movement, breath awareness, pranayama, and meditation, yoga is approached as a long-term practice rather than a quick result.
Meet Neeraj Vashistha
Founder & Yoga Teacher
Neeraj Vashistha is a yoga teacher based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, with a unique journey that bridges journalism and the traditional wisdom of yoga. He began his professional career as a journalist in New Delhi, where he spent eight years covering stories and engaging with diverse communities.
Born into a family with a deep yogic heritage, Neeraj was greatly inspired by his grandfather, an accomplished yogi whose teachings laid the foundation for his lifelong connection with yoga. Guided by this legacy, he eventually chose to leave journalism and dedicate himself entirely to the study and teaching of yoga.
His deep connection to yoga is rooted in both family tradition and years of dedicated study under the renowned Krishnamacharya lineage.
His practice and teaching are firmly grounded in the classical texts of yoga, including the Yoga Sutra of Sage Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. He follows the Patanjali tradition, which emphasizes adapting yoga to the unique needs, abilities, and aspirations of each individual. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach, Neeraj specializes in personalized, one-to-one guidance and customized yoga practices that support sustainable growth and holistic well-being.
“Life is meant to be celebrated, not suffered.”
